Pilates Mat Classes
Canberra Pilates mat classes provide a focused, accessible way to build core strength, improve posture and increase functional mobility using just a mat and small props. Sessions guide participants through controlled, precision-based movements that target deep stabilising muscles of the spine and pelvis, helping to reduce back pain and enhance everyday movement patterns. Classes are suitable for a wide range of fitness levels; exercises can be modified to accommodate beginners, rehabilitation needs or to provide a greater challenge for experienced practitioners.
At Pilates Canberra our mat classes emphasise alignment, breath coordination and mindful movement to create sustainable improvements in strength and flexibility. Small group sizes ensure individual attention so instructors can offer tailored adjustments and progressions. Regular practice not only develops physical resilience but also promotes body awareness and movement efficiency, making mat Pilates a practical addition to any training or recovery plan.

Mat classes run for 50 minutes and offer a group format for learning Pilates.
All participants perform the same exercises in a flowing format. Our skilled instructors offer progressions and/or modifications to participants, as they see fit, to provide an effective workout for each individual. Please note that mat classes are for healthy participants only, and not recommended for those rehabilitating from injuries.
